Sorenson Video Relay Service
The system works with a remote, and video phone, and a TV, and requires a high speed Internet connection. A deaf person uses the remote to dial the number they would like to reach, which is then intercepted by an operator. The caller and the operator are able to see each other and communicate through sign language. The operator then relays the message from the deaf caller to the person on the other end of the phone. The system also allows two deaf people to communicate directly by signing to each other.
