
HOME Delivery SERVICE
The Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library offers free delivery of materials to residents of our service communities who are physically unable to visit the library, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and those who are physically incapacitated by illness or accident. You may request specific materials or have a librarian select them according to your interests. HOMESCHOOLERS
We offer library tours, computer and research instruction sessions, support for academic needs, extended borrowing privileges, and meeting space for homeschoolers and their families. Please see contact information below.
TALKING BOOKS
Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library is the local depository for Talking Book Machines and related equipment. Talking Book Machines are specialized audiocassette players that are provided for individuals that are unable to read standard print material due to visual, physical, or reading disabilities – whether permanent or temporary. A physician, social worker, nurse, therapist or other qualified person must certify applicants. Items are delivered free of charge via the mail. PROGRAMS
The Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library provides booktalks, storytimes, and book discussions at senior centers, senior retirement homes, independent living facilities, nursing homes, child care centers, schools and other facilities. BIFOLKAL KITS
The library circulates Bifolkal Kits, which are multimedia theme based kits that encourage the sharing of experiences while stimulating the memory and enhancing communications skills. Each kit includes music cassettes, slides, objects to touch and smell, 25 booklets of sing-along songs, photographs, poetry, prose, and a manual that gives step-by-step programming instructions. The manual also includes additional programming ideas and lists of other resources. Bifolkal Kits can be used by groups at senior centers, nursing homes, schools, or by individuals. DEPOSIT COLLECTIONS
The Willoughby – Eastlake Library provides small collections of books and other library materials to senior facilities within our service communities. Specifically chosen for each facility, each collection is rotated every 6 weeks. This program is perfect for activity or care directors at senior facilities who would like to have books, videos, and other library materials available for their residents, but do not have time to come to the library.
